Volunteer sign-up form

The Chicagoland Bicycle Federation is seeking dedicated volunteers to help out with the 20th annual Boulevard Lakefront Tour on Sunday, September 7, 2008. Grab a friend or a group and join us to make this ride safe and fun for everyone.

Please see our list of volunteer descriptions for information on each position.

Day-of-Event Volunteers receive:

  • A volunteer T-shirt
  • An invitation to participate in a preview ride of the 35-mile route before the event
  • An invitation to our annual volunteer party
  • A chance to win cool raffle prizes
  • Volunteer orientation

As an added bonus, non-profit, community, school and corporate groups of 10-15 people can earn a monetary donation for volunteering. For corporate groups, Chicagoland Bicycle Federation will make a donation on the corporation's behalf to a qualified charity or non-profit.

Pre-Event Volunteer Opportunities


Packet Pickup (click for more information) I'd like to help out with packet pick-up the following day(s).

Event Set-Up Truck loading at CBF office (9 W Hubbard St):
Saturday, September 6, 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Set-up at 59th & Woodlawn:
Saturday, September 6, 3 p.m.-???
Signage Team Signage will be put up on Saturday, September 6, and taken down after the ride on Sunday, September 7. You will be able to ride the 15- or 35-mile route the day of the event for free!

Sign me up for the signage team.
Route Markers Route marking will take place overnight approximately a week before the event. As a route marker you will be able to participate in the Boulevard Lakefront Tour for free!

Rest Stops, Water Stops, Truck Drivers

15-35 Mile Rest Stops:
Ping Tom Park water stop
Douglas Park water stop
Lincoln Park area water stop
Palmer Square rest stop

62 Mile Rest Stops:
Avalon Park rest stop
Ridge Park rest stop
I'd like to drive one of the 15 ft supply trucks.

Ride Marshals (medic and/or repair) I know how to change a tire, make small mechanical adjustments and I own a bicycle pump and repair tools.
I am a trained physician, nurse or paramedic.
Course Marshals There are over 32 intersections where we are seeking Course Marshals. Please check the box below to get more information about specific Course Marshal positions available.

I'm interested in learning more about being a Course Marshal.
